Educator Resource Center offers NASA Materials

The SMTC is the NASA Educator Resource Center (ERC) for this area and has NASA materials available to teachers, students, and the general public. Most materials are free to teachers with the exception of the duplication of slides and videotapes, as noted below. NASA Educational Materials include lesson plans, videos, slides, computer programs, photographs, posters and more. All materials are available for check out.

Posters and photographs are available to teachers at no cost and to students and the general public for $3.50.

NASA slides include topics such as the planets, meteorites, astronauts, weather, aeronautics, and many others. The cost to duplicate slides range from $5.00 to $15.50. The cost varies depending on if you provide the film and pick up your order or if the SMTC provides the film and covers postage and handling.

Videos include a wide range of topics and cost $6.00 to $11.00 to duplicate. Again, the cost is dependent upon whether you supply the video and pick up your order, or if the SMTC provides the video and covers the postage and handling. Videotapes are 120 minutes. Many NASA videotapes can be put on one tape, as long as time does not exceed 120 minutes.

There are a limited number of space related kits available for check out such as: Star Finder, an instrument students use to learn constellations, stars, and planets. Toys in Space, a supplement to the video that includes toys noted in the video.
